Description
The NKV-RD double valve (brand) ventilator with rain-proof side valves exhausts large quantities of hot air and/ or smoke in an economical, energy-free manner.
The system is particularly suited for buildings with high indoor heat levels where proper ventilation must be guaranteed even with rain and snow.
Both top valves are installed at a 30o horizontal angle whereby the (transparent) valves are cleaned automatically during rainfall.
The well-designed and versatile system is produced in accordance with NEN-EN-ISO 9001 with the best, anti-corrosive materials, thus guaranteeing problem-free function.
This lightweight system can be used practically everywhere thanks to its wide range of sizes, types and operating options.
Operating Principles
Warm air is lighter than cold air, thus it rises. This thermal action (and/ or excessive pressure in a building) can result in large amounts of warm air or smoke to be exhausted from a building.
The NKV-RD ventilator is equipped with top valves for daily ventilation and/ or smoke ventilation in the event of fire. The top valves can be operated for daily ventilation.
In combination with rain detection, the top valves are opened automatically and with priority in the event of a fire. In the event of rainfall, the rain-proof side valves are opened (automatically) and the top valves are closed. In the event of a failure or other reason, the side and top valves can be opened and closed independently from each other.
The aerodynamic surface of the top valves and/ or side valves are not influenced by each other because the side valves are installed completely outside the airflow of the roof opening.
The NKV-RD has built-in eaves gutters and each valve closes independently around an EPDM rubber seal, thus guaranteeing a maximum air tight seal.
The valves for a wind barrier in their open position prevents wind blowing from outside to inside.

Despatching
The NKV-RD ventilators are fully assembled and tested prior to delivery.
Standard delivery is in brute aluminium, but they can also be coated in any desired RAL colour.
Extras includes insect mesh, noise dampers, anti-theft grids, open/ closed position indicator, sprinkler shields and mounting flange adjustment for water-proof connections.
Thanks to its relatively low weight, the NKV-RD can be mounted on all types of structures, straight cross-slope plates, glazing system and even light strips arched inwards or outwards.
All necessary mounting flanges are customised to customer specifications and are fully water-proof.
